Acting For Real Workshop: Scene Study ~Audition Prep ~ On Camera
Wed Evenings 6 - 8

~ Class Begins Wed April 3 ~

~ Spring Sessions meet once a week in the Sag Harbor area ~

Acting For Real: Scene Study, On-Camera, Audition Prep is for actors of every level!

  • Are you hoping to gain more artistic skills?

  • Learn and try out new performance techniques?

  • Develop an understanding of script analysis!

Classes will begin with a warm up to release the tension from our daily lives. This allows students to truly inhabit their physical body, the actor’s ‘instrument’. Students will learn to ask and answer specific questions by focusing on the material. In a real life audition scenario one must make choices in a blink of an eye. Choices that will set them apart from their peers & other actors “in the room”. These ideas must be executed with confidence & self-assurance IN FRONT OF A CAMERA.

This creates a performance that reveals the subtexts that emotionally impact their character, and in turn their audience.

In a positive, encouraging environment we will work on scenes in front of the class. With input and critique from myself and your fellow students, you will understand how to reveal the deeper layers of your character’s wants, needs, and motivations. Each student’s personal life experience can be used to build the character in order to create a dynamic and unique performance on stage, on camera, or for auditions.

Every other month will culminate with a

“showcase class”

so family & friends may view your work!

Testimonials

Noëlle is the real deal! Her classes are the only NYC actor/conservatory training publicly available in the Hamptons area. Not only does Noëlle have amazing real-world credits and professional experience, she is also an engaging, thorough and nurturing instructor.  A lot of actors with great credits try to teach, but not all can; Noëlle is that rare actor/instructor who is able to effectively impart her wisdom and insights concisely and inspirationally to her lucky students!
— Allen O'Reilly, Director of Education and Community Outreach at Bay Street Theater
The training, experience, and care I received from Noelle Parker were the precise preparation and reintroduction I needed for my return to acting on the stage.  Through her prompts, visualization exercises, and, especially, the utilization of character development and background, my passion for theatre has been reignited after a 39-year hiatus.

About Noëlle

Noëlle Parker began her professional career on stage at The Ensemble Studio Theatre in NYC. At 11 years old, she was one of the youngest actresses to become a member of EST. She appeared in their annual Marathon of One Acts for the next 5 years. Noëlle attended the original High School of Performing Arts on 46th street (now known as LaGuardia) where she was formally trained in the methods of Stanislavski, Lee Strasberg and Uta Hagan. At 13 she began private classes studying extensively with Susan Batson and Sandra Seacat in New York, and with Dominic DeFazio in Los Angeles.

Noëlle has appeared in numerous films and television shows alongside Sean Penn, Blythe Danner, Brian Dennehy, Sam Waterston, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Dermott Mulroney to name a few. Most notably appearing in the title role of NBC's The Amy Fisher Story, the film At Close Range and as a regular on the series Sisters playing the defiant wayward daughter of Swoosie Kurtz. She was awarded a daytime Emmy for her work in Different Worlds - An Interracial Love Story. Most recently, Noëlle can be seen in the 2020 film They Only Know So Much where she is also an Associate Producer.

Having worked and studied for most of her professional career has given Noëlle a unique advantage as a teacher and private coach. She brings her own knowledge and experience to help all stages of actors achieve their goals. She has been living and working in the Sag Harbor community for the last ten years while continuing her acting career and working as a private coach locally and in NYC. She is excited to offer this work to the East End Hamptons community!
